5 Powerful Money Beliefs to Change for More Abundance
Our limiting money beliefs are created by our fears, which when changed, we can have more financial abundance.
What are the fears that affect how we see money?
The most common fears are the fear of success, the fear of failure, the fear of not being good enough, the fear of what others might think of you, the fear of ridicule or criticism, and the fear of embarrassment.
When unchecked, these fears can limit how much abundance we have.
In this article, I’ll talk about 5 powerful money beliefs to change for more abundance, including getting your fear in check.
1 – Limiting Belief: There Isn’t Enough Money
Have you ever been told “money doesn’t grow on trees”?
Scarcity is a common belief, especially about money.
But the truth of it is there’s plenty to go around…
In fact, in the United States, if everyone had equal income, we would each have more than $90,000 per year.
That doesn’t seem like scarcity to me.
It’s just the opposite.
We develop this limiting belief by what we’re taught growing up or experiences we have in connection to money.
And we learn and accept the fear of not having enough.
The way to beat this fear is to understand there truly is enough for everyone. Dash the false belief of there not being enough.
2 – Limiting Belief: I Don’t Deserve Money
We live in a world that teaches us we aren’t good enough.
That message is blasted everywhere: billboards, school grades, commercials, parents and loved ones and leaders.
We get that message from many different directions in many different ways.
But imagine for a minute, what if you were good enough? Then what?
I can tell you that you are good enough, but would you believe me?
It’s something you have to discover for yourself. You have to come to the realization that you truly are worth it, you are good enough.
And if you don’t believe me, maybe you’ll believe Maya Angelou who said, “You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.”
Or maybe you’ll believe Oprah Winfrey who said,
“We often block our own blessings because we don’t feel inherently good enough or smart enough or pretty enough or worthy enough… You’re worthy because you are born and because you are here. Your being here, your being alive makes worthiness your birthright. You alone are enough.”
You deserve every happiness you desire.
3 – Limiting Belief: Money Is Evil
This limiting belief usually comes from the misread and misquoted New Testament Bible verse in 1 Timothy 6:10, which says, “For the love of money is the root of all evil…”
It doesn’t say money is evil, but rather the LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
But it’s common for it to be misquoted.
I see it misquoted at least once a month on social media and hear it in conversations regularly.
Because of this false belief, many people also adopt the idea that it’s not good to have money because they believe it’s evil.
They reject it and repel it, consciously or unconsciously.
We fear it and fear being evil.
The truth is money isn’t evil; it’s simply a tool, one that can be used for good or evil.
When we accept that we can crush these fears and accept more abundance into our lives.
We can choose to use this tool for good.
4 – Limiting Belief: It’s Hard to Earn Money
A common belief is money is hard to come by.
This belief feeds a scarcity mindset because you want to hang onto the money you have.
But it all depends on how you get money that makes it ‘hard’ to get or not.
I knew someone who had a paper route each morning to deliver the newspaper. He needed the extra money.
However, he kept acquiring more and more routes until he had over 1000 papers to roll up and deliver every morning…rain, snow, or shine. It didn’t matter.
He had to wake up at 2am to get started and have them delivered on time.
It seemed like the money he earned was very hard to earn.
But what about someone who spends the same amount of time each day as a copywriter (someone who writes for businesses) and gets paid 10x or more than the paper delivery guy?
It might be work, but it seems like the money is easier to come by.
Now take that same copywriter and have them earn a commission on all the sales generated from their writing…
That upfront work has now turned into perpetual passive income.
Now that is easy money.
So why do we adopt the belief that it’s hard to earn money?
Probably because our society portrays it as being such.
And that belief creates the fear of loss. We fear losing money because to get more will be hard.
The best way to beat this fear and this belief is to accept that money can be easy to earn and then go out and start earning money in an easier way than you have.

5 – Limiting Belief: It Takes Money to Make Money
Sometimes this belief is true, but not always.
It comes down to how you decide to make money.
If you want to build an online business, it is possible to begin without spending money.
But eventually you will need helpful tools to help you scale your business.
There are a number of tools I use, one of which does most of what I need. It’s more of an all-in-one tool.
Most people want or need to get started without investing in tools to begin with.
And it is possible because it doesn’t take money to make money.

Many people are afraid to even try something because they tell themselves they couldn’t do it anyway.
